With the New Year came new faces. We're lucky to have brought on Alex Sailer and Joshua Krohn (both UI designers), Will Straughn (our nifty new-business guy), Juwan Platt (manager of the office and social media), and Charisse Bennett (branding project manager).
Also with the New Year came implementing “stand-up” meetings. Our development team has long conducted these but now the whole company participates. Getting started, some of us found the practice more awkward than others (ahem... Juwan).
Speaking of Juwan, he has a thirst for knowledge that almost rivals our co-Founder, Erik Reagan.
We’re also pretty stoked to have Will Straughn around. Having experience in selling ukuleles for a living (I'm not kidding), we thought it would be grand to have his talent around. Another aside, Will is allergic to metal, hence the wooden watch.
The UI side of Focus Lab has been beefing up its preplanning, which meant we needed to help Shub carry her load. Enter Charisse. She’s pretty spectacular. I’m not saying that just ‘cause she’s my desk neighbor.
Charisse works closely with Summer, our brand strategist.
Speaking of branding, Summer and Jon worked closely on the revamp of Ted Todd Insurance’s brand. We first created it almost three years ago when we didn’t have a strategist on staff then. It’s been a wild ride to see what we missed, or succeeded at, during the first rendition of the brand.
Speaking of Jon Howell, we were sad to see him join an obscure company named “Microsoft.” We’re proud of him and eager to see his next chapter unfold.
Lastly, Shub, our fearless lead project manager, is ready to rally the troops at a moment’s notice. She stands...¦ all the time!
Later this month we’re bringing in our remote team for much fanfare and frivolities. Oh, there will be pictures.
