How We Do | We Work OUT

By Kellie Groover

Our 2014 company resolution is Fitness.

We kicked off the new year with office planking challenges in January, 30-day fit challenges for February, and the office ladies have also started running as a group. Our next challenge we thought, how about a race?

Last Friday the office participated in their first 5K — the March of Dimes Shamrock Run. St. Patrick’s Day is a BIG deal in Savannah, Georgia. We boast the 2nd largest St. Pat’s party with an estimated half-million visitors to the city each year for the celebration in the streets. Kicking off a week of festivities, the Shamrock Run was guaranteed to have lots of runners sporting lots of green. And by lots, I mean LOTS. Of course, we decided to bring it.

We nearly had full office participation, with two of our remote peeps in town. We had a total of nine runners: Matt Yow, Rocky, Sam, Charlie, Myles, Bill, Summer, Alicja, and myself. We made sure to get some great green schwag to pass around prior to the race. This was very important.

Lookin’ good guys!

Surprisingly, it was the first official 5K for all of the guys! Way to go, fellas! Everyone did a great job and had a good time. Super proud everyone finished. Major props go out to Charlie and Sam for finishing in their age range top 10! Are you sure this was your first race?

Overall, we had a blast. Looking forward to the next team race: The Color Run, May 17th! Here’s to getting fit in 2014!
