Interface Design

Interface design is the layer between the information and the user, taking strategy and experience design to the next level by creating interactions that make sense. It considers the users’ goals, and seeks to present information and actions where, and how, they look for them.

Information Architecture

By starting with an audit of any existing or intended site content, we can determine how best to organize and structure site content to create a logic-based design and allow for ease in site navigation.

User Flow Mapping

Mapping out the flow a user could potentially take through a digital interface sets the stage for a meaningful experience. Planning and designing a user’s journey through a website or application helps focus the user on specific tasks or calls to action, and ensures that the design works for various audiences.

Content Strategy and Production

Content Strategy and Production

Successful websites are not only beautiful, but designed as a marriage of business messaging and goals (information), the interface (presentation), and your user’s goals and actions (interaction). Content strategy ensures your content (of all types) not only aligns with your messaging, but also is organized and presented intuitively and efficiently.

Wireframing and Prototyping

Information architecture, user flow mapping, and content strategy inform the process of wireframing and prototyping. Wireframing creates visual representations of information in the context of an interface, resulting in what is essentially a blueprint. Prototyping, on the other hand, is a more granular exercise where a specific user interaction is created in order to test its effectiveness.

Visual Design

When most people think of design, they think of visual design. Using wireframes and prototypes as a guide, we create the visual design by applying a brand look and feel to the context of a website, product dashboard, or mobile app.

Responsive Design

Responsive design is the methodology of designing an interface that responds to the device on which it is being viewed. Involving more than just providing visual design mockups for “desktop,” “tablet,” and “mobile,” responsive design is about creating a cohesive experience for each instance where content layout might break.

UI Kits and Pattern Libraries

UI Kits and Pattern Libraries

User interface kits are a simple way of aggregating all base level interface elements into a single document or web page. Pattern libraries, on the other hand, are a more robust outline of all levels or interface elements as well as documentation on usage. We produce static mockups of UI kits as a starting point for the development of base styles. Pattern libraries are usually generated during the development phase as a form of visual documentation.
