Ted Todd’s personal approach has made them the country’s largest Allstate Insurance franchise. Always an innovator in the industry, they distinguished themselves after Hurricane Charley ravaged Florida—while competitors cut their offerings in the state, Ted Todd fought to offer better products with more options. True to their commitment to accessibility, they tapped us to make their brand and user experience more interactive and engaging. Having worked before with Ted Todd on their brand and website gave us a running start and an intimate understanding of the client.

Laying the foundation with brand strategy, we refreshed the logo and color palette, then extended the refreshed brand experience to a redesigned website informed by an extensive UI and UX discovery and built on the latest web development technology. The new site honors their commitment to the client experience, with easy-to-navigate actions, palatable verbiage that communicates a lot without overwhelming the reader, and dialed-up custom photography and video for aesthetic benefit and storytelling.

Their brand needed to keep pace with the next step in Ted Todd’s evolution. Before, it had a playful vibe. Given the company’s growth, we needed to suit it up like a pro without sacrificing its heart: we sharpened the bubbly letterforms, slimmed the iconography, and—after tweaking the primary brand color—limited the formerly abundant color floods.

In an industry where content often suffers because of lengthiness and legalese, we knew we needed to find opportunities to add visual interest. Ultimately we created a variety of page templates but made sure to create repeatable content modules, not only to create ease in design and development, but also to create consistency across pages. Ted Todd is a particularly successful example of spending more time in wireframing so that the design phase is informed and efficient.

We worked on redefining their entire office environment. Credit to Kyle Steed for hand painting this great mural in their space.

Using custom team and environment photography paired with stock photo selection and editing, we drove home Ted Todd’s individuality in their industry. We worked closely with them to brainstorm styles for culture and product photography, and staging and shooting bespoke photos for the website and marketing materials. We also directed, shot, and produced a culture video to help better explain why Ted Todd Insurance, with their focus on being a great place to work and team to work with, is leading the charge.
