My Story

Savannah native Kellie Groover joined the Focus Lab team in January of 2014. She started her college career at the Savannah College of Art and Design with a focus on 2D animation, but eventually obtained her BA in Communications with a Drawing minor from Georgia Southern University.

She spent several years at the Walt Disney World Resort as a Tour Guide for the Great Movie Ride and as a Bellhop at the Tower of Terror, she’s worked on several productions for movies, tv, commercials, and music videos, and spent a few years as a marketing coordinator for an architecture firm… all on her journey to join the Special Forces at Focus Lab.

Self-professed movie buff, her movie of choice is “It’s a Wonderful Life”. Go-to karaoke song is “The Middle” by Jimmy Eat World or “Hook” by Blues Traveler. Thinks the best sound in the world is her son Noah’s laugh. Finds the webcomic Savage Chickens to be hysterical. And dares you to challenge her in Disney trivia.

In her free time, Kellie and her husband, Jay, like to make epic videos of Noah set to various iconic movie themes. Her all-time goal is to make a webcomic of her own.

Kellie brings to Focus Lab her stellar office skills along with her love of all things creative.

Be Nice… The Key to Mastering Customer Service

“Be Nice,” and you might just master customer service. Of course it goes much deeper than that. Yes, you have to treat your customers nicely, but above all you must BE that.

Behind the Scenes: A Little Party Never Killed Nobody

First, a little Focus Lab history for you. For three years, resident photographer Alicja Colon has requested that our next Focus Lab team activity be a murder mystery dinner show. 2015 was her year. We finally conceded, but with a twist: we’d buy the game and put it on ourselves, with the team as the “actors” and the killer gasp among us.

After Hours: Kellie’s Top 5 Movies (of all time)

Let me start with how much I appreciate film. I studied film in college, worked at the Great Movie Ride at Disney where I spent days spieling movie facts, had the entire Blockbuster library at my disposal while working through college, and have had the awesome opportunity to work on a few films. I love the medium. I love film history. I have such a broad appreciation for film, from the early black and whites (including silent films), up to today’s CGI-laden action/sci-fi’s (lens flare).

Spotlight: Kellie, Take 3

Hey there, hi there, ho there! I’m Kellie Groover, one of the newbies here in Focus Lab Land. I’m the behind-the-scenes office lady, resident mouseketeer, backstage manager, special forces teammate, pretty much whatever-I-can-do-to-make-everyone’s-life-easier, go-to gal. Think of me as a fairy godmother for the Focus Lab team.

How We Do | We Work OUT

Our 2014 company resolution is Fitness this year. We kicked off the new year with office planking challenges in January, 30-day fit challenges for February, and the office ladies have also started running as a group. Our next challenge we thought, how about a race?
