Matt Yow started his design career at a private design school near his hometown of Raleigh, NC. He moved to Savannah in 2010, where he currently attends the Savannah College of Art & Design, working toward his BFA in Graphic Design.
A true student of the history of graphic design, Matt loves to understand what influences current design trends, as well as history’s role in his own design aesthetic. Matt enjoys branding, illustration and honing his typography skills. This special passion for typography often finds Matt experimenting with his own type design.
Matt is a fan of clean design with a purpose and message. His passion keeps him immersed in exploring quality work by his peers and predecessors. Working in both a classroom and professional environment gives Matt the opportunity to learn in an academic setting, and then apply that knowledge in his work at Focus Lab.
Matt married his high school crush since 2008, and they continue to live happily ever after. In his spare time, Matt loves reading and enjoying a pipe on his porch.

We were approached by Sun 'n' Fun Rentals to refresh their brand and redefine the personality of a business that has been in operation for 30 years. The look they were utilizing was tired and lacked cohesion due to the addition of elements over the years. They were in need of a team that had a true understanding of their market and the creative talent to deliver on all fronts.
