A hunger for new knowledge and skills led Jonathan to learn webpage programing by taking a basic web design class during the summer before 8th grade. This knowledge later allowed him to work part time on websites at two local TV stations while in high school.
After high school, rather than attending a four-year college, Jonathan continued his practical education in design by getting paid to build actual sites. During this time, the web standards movement was in full force, so Jonathan learned about CSS and standards-based markup by devouring the writings of Zeldman, Meyer and Cederholm.
In 2008 Jonathan transitioned from creating static webpages to learning about ExpressionEngine, which opened a whole new world to him. When Ryan Irelan released his Learning ExpressionEngine videos, everything clicked for Jonathan. Since then, he has continued his self-education, keeping up with the latest ExpressionEngine developments, as it has grown and moved to EE2.
Outside of work, Jonathan loves to travel with his church to Africa for mission work. He's traveled to five countries on yearly trips since his senior year in high school. The rest of his time is devoted to his new bride Melody. They live happily in sunny Akron, Ohio.
It looks like I haven't written anything on the blog yet. That's boring.
