If you follow us on Twitter or Instagram you've noticed we've spent the past couple of months planning for and building out a new office space. This past Monday was our first day working from the new space so we wanted to share a little bit about it with you fine folks. We're doing an official office launch party in late October, after we've actually finished building things out to our spec. That doesn't mean we have to wait until October to share some pics though!
Initially we approached the new space with the idea that we’re a team of designers and we can design the space just fine. Thankfully we quickly realized our area of design wasn’t going to get us the office we wanted. We found a neighbor at ThincSavannah who turned out to be an outstanding asset to the project! She’s designed a lot of what’s come to be and much of what’s to come.
The new office is comprised predominately of four spaces.
- Our workspace where we spend most of the day
- Our “collaboration area” which is doubling as our video conference space for now
- The kitchen (which hopefully needs no explanation)
- And our event space which will eventually double as our conference room
Our workspace and kitchen are both about 90% done to spec. These two were the spaces we really needed to be near-complete in order to start working in the new space. It’s quite the improvement over six people in a 225sqft box.
The collaboration area and event/conference space are still being built out.
We have a number of small changes to make and an entirely separate room not mentioned yet which needs to be furnished. With the official office launch party we’ll post another entry going more in-depth on the new space.
Thanks for the kind words as we spammed the social web with our excitement!
